Today on Friday Church Finds we are highlighting the former Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church that was located in West Hollywood, CA. Although this church is had closed in 1952, it is an interesting highlight because it is the only remaining church structure from the town of Sherman. The town of Sherman, founded in the late 1890s, was the predecessor to the present day City of West Hollywood. The building is now the home of the First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills, CA. You can learn more about the history of this church by clicking on the link in the comments below. Thank you to Van Herd for the contribution. #erhistoricalsociety

Wow!! This piece of history is so amazing!!!

Today on Digital Thursdays, we are highlighting the Synode des Nordwestens (Synod of the Northwest), particularly the acts & proceedings from the 1915-1923 annual meetings. The Synod of the Northwest was approved by the 1866 General Synod of the Reformed Church in the United States and was formally organized on May 28, 1867, at St. John’s Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Synod of the Northwest continued through 1939 when the geographical Synods of the Evangelical and Reformed Church were organized. These resources are excellent sources to learn about individual churches, clergy, and the activities of this individual Synod. We will continue adding more to the Synod of the Northwest collection in the coming months. You can find these digitized volumes on the ERHS Internet Archive page by clicking the link in the comments below. #erhistoricalsociety #unitedchurchofchrist #conservativecongregationalchristianconference #evangelicalassociation

I couldn't find the "donate" button (above) until now. I kept looking for it. Anyway, I did donate on this Giving Tuesday by navigating to the ERHS website instead.
